1998 Shiraz
The Wine Advocate Issue 135 June 2001
”A powerful 1998 Shiraz (15.8% alcohol) this chewy, somewhat closed, but dense, muscular Shiraz is crammed with leathery, earthy, blackberry cassis fruit, has a corpulent personality, sweet tannin, an a lusty, slightly rustic, but powerful finish. I am sure it is going to gain finesse, so drink it over the next decade to take full advantage of such exuberance.”

2000 Shiraz
The Age Ralph Kyte-Powell 16 Sept 2003
”The Oddfellows are a group who have banded together to produce hearty Langhorne Creek reds. This one has a potent nose of blueberry, blackberry, seet spices and toasty vanillin oak. It’s medium to full-bodied with dense dark fruit, a touch of mint, good texture and a ripe, dry tannic backbone. 4/5 stars : First class, a wine of distinction. Reasonably priced relative to quality”.

Wine Spectator November 2002
”Ripe and broad, with lovely peppermint notes weaving through the crisp berry flavors, echoing nicely on the finish. Drink now through 2009.”

2001 Shiraz
Winestate July/August 2003
”A purple wine with a big fruit cake of a nose and lovely sweet flavoursome palate that has vibrancy and balance of fruit, oak and acid.”

Top Aussie Red Huon Hooke Sydney Morning Herald April 2004
”This is a big mouthful fo wine, with dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla aromas and sweet, ripe dark-fruit flavours. It’s an opulent style with 14.5 percent alcohol - heady and decadent and generously oaked but also well-balanced and clean, finishing with plenty of soft tannin. Best now to 2010.”

Shiraz Cabernet
2002 Shiraz Cabernet
Nicks Wine Merchants March 2004
”A blockbuster of a Red. . . Totally opaque black purple colour with deep purple hue. The nose displays concentrated flavours of blackberry, vanilla and liquorice - providing an excellent sniff. The palate is monumental in weight, showing classic fruit bomb character. Ripe blackberry, vanilla, cedar and plum are followed by a warm, spicyback palate. Fine grained, slightly dusty tannins followed by a warm spicy aftertaste.”

Winestate Sept/Oct 2003
”Dark, earthy, berry fruit nose with ripe toasty notes. Youthful, soft palate with good depth of fruit balanced by crisp acidity.”
